FASSV Cookbook
Dear parents,
Starting this week, I will be working on a cookbook project with you! This cookbook will be a compilation of recipes that you (your child(ren)/family) can contribute to and serve as a living souvenir of your participation and sharing of recipes with other fellow FASSV families.
These recipes can be anything—-of special meaning or celebration for you, a tradition, anything. It’s up to you! I will be compiling, editing, and putting the book together. All you need to do is provide the following:
- One (1) recipe to contribute—either in printed form (I will post an envelope on the PTA board marked “RECIPES”)—or in electronic format. My email is vdeloulay@yahoo.com. If you remember, please put “FASSV Recipe” in the subject line.
- Your child’s name and grade.
- If you like, you can also provide photos of the preparation or the final result and/or a photo of your child.
- If you have a special story about the recipe, please share that. You can also tell me where you are from so we can add that information.
- Note: You can provide the recipe in French or English. If you speak another language at home and would like to provide that recipe, I just need it translated in English (please).
Don’t worry about the formatting or page size. I will take care of that.
In order to meet printing deadlines, I’m asking that you get your recipes to me no later than December 16. This will help me in completing the production and printing processes. If I see that we have room for more time, I can extend the deadline. And later in the Spring, the PTA School Spirit Committee will be providing details about when the cookbooks will be made available for sale. Thanks very much for your participation and creating this living memory for your children. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Scholastic Book Fair – Results
Hi, FASSV Families and Faculty:
The great news is that we hit our goal of over $2,000 in sales from the Scholastic Book Fair held last week (10/3 to 10/7) in the FASSV hallway. (We specifically hit $2281.55 at the close of day Friday, October 7th!) The online portion will close on Friday, October 14th so you still have time to order books online. FASSV gets the credit from those sales as well. Plus, the prices are kept very affordable and shipping is free.
Here is the URL for the online book fair again:
http://onlinebookfairs.scholastic.com/default.aspx?f=2922488
Once the online portion closes, I will let you know how much we earned in Scholastic Dollars (coupon vouchers to buy books from the Scholastic catalogue to supplement the FASSV library and classrooms) and cash to go towards PTA programs not covered by our tuition.
Thanks so much for supporting the book fair by either stopping by and/or working the fair. It was a great success!
Sincerely,
Bonnie Denoyer
